Terms of Use
Effective date: February 16, 2026
Important: Top Hand is an educational simulator only. It is not a substitute for professional training, field procedures, safety requirements, or qualified engineering judgment. Do not use simulation results for real-world electrical design or safety-critical decisions.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Top Hand — Transformer Connections ("Top Hand," "the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of the App
Top Hand is an iOS application that simulates distribution transformer bank connections. Users build wiring configurations using virtual single-phase transformer cans and observe computed secondary voltages. The App uses a phasor-domain circuit solver (Modified Nodal Analysis) to compute results from user-defined wiring.
3. Educational Use Only
The App is intended solely for educational and training purposes. Specifically:
- The App does not provide field procedure instructions.
- The App does not perform arc-flash calculations, protection coordination, or safety analysis.
- The App does not account for real-world factors such as conductor impedance, temperature, load dynamics, equipment tolerances, or grounding systems beyond its simplified model.
- Simulation results are computed from idealized models and may not reflect actual field conditions.
You acknowledge that the App is not a substitute for your training, your employer's safety requirements, your foreman's direction, or your own professional judgment.
4. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects.
- Simulation results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular application.
- The App will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Top Hand and its developer(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Personal injury or property damage arising from use of or reliance on the App.
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
- Any decisions made based on simulation results.
In no event shall total liability exceed the amount you paid for the App.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful, educational purposes.
- Not rely on simulation results for real-world electrical work, design, or safety-critical decisions.
- Follow all applicable safety regulations, employer policies, and professional standards when performing actual electrical work.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and intellectual property in the App are owned by Top Hand and its developer(s). You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the App except as permitted by applicable law.
8. Analytics & Data
The App includes optional anonymous analytics as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the App with analytics enabled, you consent to the collection of anonymous usage data as described therein. You may opt out at any time in the App's Settings.
9. Purchases & Refunds
The App is a paid download distributed through the Apple App Store. All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and refund policies.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice. Your right to use the App terminates automatically if you violate these Terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
