Privacy Policy

The short version: Top Hand does not collect personal information, does not require an account, and works entirely offline. If you opt in to anonymous analytics, we collect only aggregated usage data that cannot identify you.
1. Who We Are
Top Hand — Transformer Connections ("Top Hand," "the App," "we," or "us") is an iOS application developed by Top Hand. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the App.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Top Hand is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
- Location data
- Photos, contacts, or other device data
- Login credentials (no accounts exist)
- Financial or payment information (purchases are handled entirely by Apple)
3. Anonymous Analytics (Opt-In)
The App includes optional, anonymous analytics powered by PostHog to help us improve the simulator. Analytics are enabled by default in release builds but can be turned off at any time in the App's settings.
When analytics are enabled, we may collect:
- Usage events — such as tapping "Energize," creating a wire, or changing transformer settings. These events contain no personal data.
- Solve outcome classification — whether a simulation result was Valid, Floating, or Fault (no circuit details are sent).
- App context — app version, build number, iOS version, and device model (e.g., "iPhone 15"). This helps us prioritize device compatibility.
We do not collect:
- Your circuit designs, wiring configurations, or simulation results
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app tracking data
- Precise location, IP addresses retained for identification, or device serial numbers
How to opt out: Open the App → Settings → toggle off "Anonymous Analytics." When disabled, no data is sent and the PostHog SDK is fully opted out. No data is collected retroactively.
4. Crash Reporting
We may use crash reporting tools (such as Sentry or Apple's built-in crash reporting) to detect and fix stability issues. Crash reports may include:
- Stack traces (technical information about where a crash occurred in code)
- Device model and iOS version
- App version and build number
Crash reports do not include screenshots, personal data, or your circuit configurations.
5. Data Storage & Retention
All circuit data you create in the App is stored locally on your device only. We have no access to it.
Anonymous analytics events, if enabled, are sent to PostHog's cloud infrastructure (hosted in the United States). These events are retained for a limited period to analyze usage trends and are not linked to any individual.
6. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following third-party services:

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.
7. Children's Privacy
Top Hand is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since the App collects no personal information, there is no age-gated data to manage.
8. Your Rights
Because Top Hand does not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have analytics enabled, you can stop all future data collection by toggling it off in Settings.
